Fit and Hope help you find suitable partners faster. Fit (0-5 stars) shows thematic, geographical, and target group-based matches. Hope complements this with empirical values: Where is a successful partnership realistic? Together, these two factors provide a sound assessment of where it is worth conducting a more in-depth review - but they do not replace it.

Who can see Fit & Hope?

Pro-Insights (including Fit and Hope) appear on the right-hand side of the organization or project profile. Whether and how much you see depends on the following factors:

  • In general, Pro-Insights (including Fit and Hope) are visible from the Pro level onwards.

  • In order for Fit and Hope to be calibrated, you must be logged in and manage an organization. Funders see Fit and Hope on the organization profiles of nonprofits. Nonprofits see Fit and Hope on the organization profiles of funders.

  • In order for Fit and Hope to be calculated accurately, it is important that your organization or project profile is completed in full (especially target group, area of impact, and subject area).

Excluded: Individual profiles without an organization/project do not receive Fit & Hope values. If you are a fundraiser who manages multiple organizations, each should have its own profile. With Pro, you can belong to multiple accounts and switch between them with a single click.

To introduce the feature, Fit and Hope will be available free of charge to all users in October and November 2025.

This is how it works:

  1. Selecting dropdown menu

    • Above Fit & Hope, there is a dropdown where you can choose between the organisation you manage and projects you have created. The calculation of Fit & Hope is based on this selection.

  2. Understanding the stars

    • Fit: 0–5 stars, based on topic, geography (areas of impact), and target groups.

    • Hope: 0–5 stars, based on feedback, activity (login/profile maintenance), and fit.

What is Fit based on?

The fit between a grant giving organization and a nonprofit/project is based on the subject area, the target group, and the geographical area of activity.

The more these points coincide between a funding organization and a nonprofit, the better the fit.

What is Hope based on?

Hope is also based on several factors. On the one hand, Hope takes fit into account. In addition, feedback and recommendations are incorporated into Hope. Positive feedback from other organizations increases Hope, while negative feedback decreases it. For example, if an organization often receives feedback that it does not respond to contact attempts, Hope for that organization generally decreases, because it is unlikely that a successful partnership with that organization is possible.

Another factor is activity. Organizations with regularly maintained profiles and active users receive higher Hope values than inactive organizations.

What are good values for Fit and Hope?

Fit and Hope are rated on a scale of 0 to 5 stars. These ratings are broken down as follows:

Fit:

  • 5 stars = perfect Fit

  • 4 stars = good Fit

  • 3 stars = acceptable Fit

  • 2 stars = poor Fit

  • 1 star = very poor Fit

  • 0 stars = no Fit

Hope:

  • The default value is 3 stars. Values above this indicate above-average Hope, values below indicate below-average Hope.

To make a closer examination of a partnership worthwhile, we recommend at least 3/5 stars in both categories. However, even if Fit and Hope are both 5/5, this does not guarantee a positive outcome, but should only be seen as an indication that a collaboration has potential.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Why is the fit low?

Target groups or subcategories are often missing. Missing information counts as no match. Add topics (including subcategories), target groups, and areas of impact.

How do I give feedback/recommendations?
Use the buttons on the organization profile (“Give feedback,” “Make a recommendation”). Authenticate yourself in just a few clicks via Veriff to be able to give feedback or a recommendation.

Can I see who has rated me?

No, the people giving feedback are verified, but the feedback is stored anonymously. However, verified recommendations are displayed on the organization profile, together with the user who made the recommendation.
