StiftungSchweiz is now called Spheriq. It is sharpening its role as a digital infrastructure for the non-profit sector: one platform – five areas. Logins, links and prices remain unchanged.

Spheriq bundles its offerings and thus what organizations really need. We focus – and will make digital collaboration between non-profits and funders even easier in the future. Our claim is encapsulated in the slogan ‘Simply more effective’. Simple tools that are fun to use in everyday life and have a greater impact – when promoting, fundraising, networking or donating.

Why Spheriq – and what it stands for

The name Spheriq (pronounced Sferik) combines ‘sphere’ and ‘IQ’:

  • Spheres: the diverse fields of activity in the non-profit world – education, environment, culture, health and much more. And a secure, networked digital space where stakeholders can meet.

  • IQ: data and technology expertise. It drives simple tools and provides insights and a basis for informed decisions.

Together, this creates a space where good ideas find the right partners and have an impact.

But why a new name? The renaming is a logical step in the further development of the platform. With Spheriq, focus, strategy, and brand are brought closer together. We are creating a clear positioning as a digital infrastructure and a strong, connectable brand. And we are avoiding future misunderstandings and confusion with a funding foundation or association.

What Spheriq offers

You will find five key areas on a single platform:

  • The directory of actors, with an overview of non-profits and funding organisations,

  • research, with intelligent tools for targeted fundraising and scouting,

  • application and funding management, for efficient administration, processing and monitoring of processes,

  • a donation platform with solutions for public fundraising and corporate giving, with intuitively simple campaign tools,

  • and networks and workspaces: digital spaces for exchange, inspiration and collaboration – whether for working groups, for supporting funding relationships or for board management.

The five areas are complemented by practical boot camps, targeted services and additional resources in the Spheriq blog, which provide you with the necessary tools for digital philanthropy in a simple and compact form.

Seamless use – new with ‘Fit & Hope’

For you as a user, much remains familiar: logins, links and prices are unchanged, and redirects are set up. We have streamlined the menu navigation and optimized the screen layout. The communication of our services also has a new look and a clearer structure.

With ‘Fit & Hope’, we are introducing two ratings (0–5 stars) that make matching much easier: Fit shows the thematic, regional and target group-related fit, while Hope adds empirical values such as feedback, recommendations and the activity of an organization. This allows non-profits and funding foundations to see at a glance where it is particularly worthwhile to take a closer look. More on the basics and application in a separate blog post.

Moving forward together

Spheriq is one platform for everyone. Funding organizations, associations, experts, donors and corporations that place great importance on social responsibility. In developing Spheriq, we are guided by the conviction that the best solution is created when there are benefits for everyone involved.

The joint digitalization initiative with SwissFoundations, the voice of Swiss grant-making foundations, has been running since September 2023 and is providing key impetus for this further development. In addition, another industry partnership is being launched with proFonds, the association of charitable foundations and associations, which will anchor Spheriq even more broadly in the ecosystem. The collaboration with proFonds will be launched on Swiss Foundation Day on 18 November in Aarau. We are also gradually strengthening our presence in French-speaking Switzerland and Ticino and continuing to expand our cooperation with regional, national and international umbrella organizations.

Invitation to participate

Spheriq is more than just a new name – it is an invitation to shape digital change in the non-profit sector together.

Whether you are a charitable foundation, association, non-profit organization or donor, you are part of this new digital space. Try out the new features, discover ‘Fit & Hope’ in the directory or sign up for a boot camp – and help us shape the digital future of philanthropy.
