Our grant and funding management system fits directly into our platform and builds heavily on the organization and project profiles on spheriq.ch: NonProfits submit applications directly on the profile of participating funding organizations. And the application itself refers to the organization and project profile of the applicant organization. Both profiles provide the basis for the first two of three parts of the application. This means you only have to enter these two parts once and can concentrate fully on the third part of the application. The third part includes the enquiry (you can read here why we do not include a cover letter in the standard template of our application form and how to write an effective request), the required amount, the IBAN as well as additional questions and attachments. These can vary greatly depending on the funding organization.
If you are a Nonprofit and do not yet manage an organization or have not yet created a project, you must do this first. Complete as much information as you like for your organization and project. By voluntarily providing additional information, the funding organization will gain a better understanding of your project. If you have your organization verified, we will also publish it in the directory of nonprofit organizations. This way, your organization and project become visible to other funding organizations as well. However, when submitting a grant request, only the fields requested by the funding organization in the form are mandatory. Publishing the organization and project is voluntary.
Submitting applications
As a nonprofit, you can start the application process for participating funding organizations directly from their profile on spheriq.ch. After clicking on ‘Submit Grant Request’, you will either follow the instructions on the guided entry page (if the funding organization has activated it) or you will select your organization, the project for which you wish to submit a grant request, and, if applicable, the appropriate grant request form from the dropdown, and then click ‘Continue’.
You can submit applications directly from the profile of the funding organization.
In the input form, the grant request information is clearly organized into different tabs. Information from the person, organization and project profiles is already prefilled if you have previously entered it in your profile. If you edit the requested profile information or complete it directly in the grant request form, the changes are automatically applied to your profile as well.
The input screen will show you whether any information is still missing for your application.
Complete all questions carefully. Each tab contains a small icon indicating whether all required fields (fields marked with a red asterisk) have been completed. Once you are finished, click “Next step”. You can then review all the information. By clicking “Back to editing”, you can adjust your information again. If all information is correct, click “Submit grant request” to send your grant request.
Application overview
You can see all your applications in your application overview, sorted by status under the menu item ‘Grant Requests’. In the overview, you can see at a glance for each application which organization the application was submitted to, for which project, the amount requested and the total amount required, the project duration, the request, and the status.
Status
Your applications are divided into four statuses in the Grant Requests overview:
Drafts
Submitted
Accepted
Rejected
You will be informed automatically when the status of your application changes from ‘Submitted’ to ‘Accepted’ or ‘Rejected’. This means you always have an overview of all your applications.
Labels
We use a clever labeling system to manage and filter applications. To add a label to a request, click on ‘Edit labels’, enter the label in the text field, and then press ‘Enter’. Add as many labels as you like and then click on ‘Save’.
You can enter labels here.
To filter for a label, click on the symbol with the three dashes next to ‘Labels’ and select the desired labels.
This is how you filter for labels.
Shared network for communication
If the funding organization creates a shared network for communication, you will receive an email containing a direct link to the network. You can also always find the network under the ‘Network’ menu item by filtering ‘Mine/All’ for ‘My networks’. In addition, the network icon appears next to the corresponding grant request in the grant request overview, and clicking on it will also open the network.
This is how you can access the shared network directly from the grant request.
